Crock-pot Split Pea Soup

Serves: 8

1 (16 oz.) pkg. dried green split peas, rinsed
1-2 cups diced ham
1/2 chopped onion
2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
6 cups water

Combine all ingredients in the crock-pot. Cook on High 4-6 hours, or Low 8-10 hours.

My roommate, Melody, made this for me once. I think she basically made it up. It was so yummy and easy that it's my "Go To" recipe when we're having company.

I really liked this soup - so easy and yummy! My husband said it was too salty, so next time, I'll take that down a notch. :)
